Origin of first name:
Italians
Meaning of the name:
Comes from Orlanda, which is none other than the Italian form of Rolande in French, resulting from the Germanic hrod, "the glory", and nand, "the courage".
Sainte Rolande, daughter of the king of the Lombards, was, at the end of the eighth century, a princess who married the future Charlemagne. Repudiated, she died on the road to Liege in 775. The name Rolande does not give too much, but Orlane, appeared in the 1980s, continues to progress.
The Orlanes are celebrated on May 13th.
