Rich in vitamin C and folate, citrus fruits also allow a better assimilation of iron, precious during pregnancy. As for ginger, it helps to relieve nausea.

For 6 persons :

  • 4 big oranges
  • 1 yellow grapefruit
  • 1 pink grapefruit
  • 4 clementines
  • 200 g of crystallized sugar or blond vergeoise
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 2 limes

Put the sugar in a saucepan with 40 cl of water. Add the vanilla bean split in half lengthwise and well scraped, the grated ginger, the zest of all finely grated lemons and their juices. Bring to a simmer until syrupy (about 10 minutes). Meanwhile, peel the oranges and grapefruit raw and detail them in quarters. Remove the bark from the clementines and separate them into quarters. Mix all the citrus fruit in a bowl, sprinkle gently with the boiling syrup (remove the vanilla) and let it macerate until the syrup is cooled. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled.
